Marathon-Tula cycling team's Maxim Piskunov wins silver for Russia in European championship
The second day of the European track cycling championship finals ended Friday in Berlin with a prize for Marathon-Tula cycling team racer Maxim Piskunov.

Piskunov won a silver medal in the elimination race.

Alexander Vinokurov, president of Marathon Group, the Marathon-Tula cycling team's general sponsor, had this to say: "A first European championship medal is a huge event in a sportsperson's life, and I heartily congratulate Maxim on his silver win. The goal of our joint project with the Tula Oblast Administration in creating the Marathon-Tula cycling team was to help young men and women discover their potential and achieve top sporting successes. Each new victory of theirs brings us enormous satisfaction and inspires hope in the team's great future.
